Dr. Tabatabaei announced the start of the campus bike-share program in mid-winter

In an interview with the Iranian Student’s News Agency (ISNA), Dr. Tabatabaei announced the start of the campus bike-share program in mid-winter. She cited the university’s desire for the successful implementation of the program as the reason behind the late start date.

Dr. Tabatabaei, who also heads the FUM’s Green University office, expressed hope that the bike-share system will encourage faculty, staff and students to leave their cars in parking lots near entrances and cycle on campus.

The Ferdowsi University of Mashhad aims to earn the title of Iran’s most sustainable university by improving its energy and waste management, architecture, water use, transportation systems and infrastructure and promoting a culture that is environmentally conscious.
